Your Lesson is Carbon Neutral
The environment is very important to me! I have volunteered for various non-profits during my years in Canada. These include Dogwood, Clayoqout Action and other local initiatives and volunteering for the Green Party in their local level campaigns.
I recognize the importance of protecting our environment and value what the forests have to offer us all. A place of respite and sanctity from the crazy world of a capitalist society. Despite operating a mountain bike business within this capitalist framework, I am still able to use it for positive change to our environment.
Personal Carbon Use
My personal home is off-grid, we use solar panels to generate our electricity, wood to heat and propane to cook. We live in a small 500 square foot home with basic amenities and compost our waste. We try not to buy packaged food and have a vegetable garden and eat organic.
However, we still drive gas powered vehicles as we can’t afford electric yet, and we use technology mined from the ground, we can’t be 100% perfect, but we are doing our best.
Business Carbon Footprint
I researched carbon offsetting and found David Suzuki was a good place for the information.
I calculated the carbon footprint of Next Level Riding including the average mileage of clients that have travelled to my lessons during 2019 and 2020 and I decided to offset it all. That’s right, even your trip to a lesson has been offset by Next Level Riding! You’re welcome!

Offsetting your carbon is not all that you can do and it’s not the complete answer to our environmental issues. You can’t just brush your carbon under the carpet and say you’re done. There’s always ways to improve and do what’s right. Head to the David Suzuki Link to find out more.
There is however a better version of carbon offsetting Called the ‘Gold Standard’ and so I decided to go with this standard. To find out more about where my offset dollars are used you can head to Less.ca
Thank you for supporting Next Level Riding
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this information, you can be safe in the knowledge that the carbon footprint of your lesson with Next Level Riding is Carbon Neutral and will be as long as I am in operation.
I will continue to advocate for a healthy environment and I hope this inspires you to do the same. If you operate a business please consider calculating it’s carbon footprint and doing as I have and offset that for a brighter future for our children.
Take a look at your own personal footprint, especially if you fly and do whatever you can to make a positive difference in the world.
Thanks so much and see you in a lesson soon.
